These positions are voluntary, although travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses will be provided. Council membership can last up to 3 years, during which the applicant would attend up to 5 meetings, an annual away day, and various events.
Posts are currently available in:
North East – one vacancy
North West – two vacancies
Yorkshire – two vacancies
East of England – three vacancies
The closing date for applications is 22 October, and an application pack can be downloaded here.
Also this week, Arts Council England has named 9 individuals, each representing a regional office, who will act to provide advice to cities bidding for UK Capital of Culture status. Drawing on their experience of working with and supporting Liverpool during its European Capital of Culture year in 2008, these contacts will give advice on a diverse range of arts development issues. ACE anticipates that most advice will be available after the shortlisting stage, when specific support can be given to bidders on how to strengthen the arts elements of their plans. The lead individuals will also discuss the opportunities to access ACE funded programmes, principally Grants for the Arts.
