Response to Arts Funding

A letter in The Observer on Sunday 28 February 2010 raised the issue of cuts to arts and humanities funding, arguing that "our cultural capital is in danger of decline if the government fails to protect them."

Rosy Greenlees, Executive Director of the Crafts Council responded with a letter published on Sunday 7 March, arguing that:
“Prioritising science, technology, engineering and mathematics risks the many areas in which contemporary craft is contributing to the UK’s social, economic and cultural life.”
