The Crafts Council – with our research partners Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Wales and CraftNI - has commissioned a major new study of the size and impact of the contemporary craft sector.
The Mapping and Impact Study will be the largest single piece of research we have conducted since the 2004 study Making it in the 21st century
BOP Consulting will conduct the survey which will give us up-to-date evidence to make a robust case for craft in the coming years. Accurate information about the sector may never have been more important.
One of the purposes of the study is to extend our knowledge of the people and organisations involved in the sector including makers, curators, critics, educators and retailers.
If you fall into one of these categories you may be contacted by RMG Clarity who will be working with BOP to do the telephone surveys.
Your help is vital in making sure that we have up-to-date knowledge and statistics about contemporary craft in the UK. By lending your voice you will provide us with the information that we need to tell government and funders about the successes and needs of the sector and help us to make a robust case for contemporary craft in the coming years.
If you have any questions about the research, please contact the research team on admin@bop.co.uk
