Cleo Mussi’s largest series to date is at Stroud’s Museum in the Park
For All Consuming Mussi has created a collection of her trademark mosaic characters that offer a narrative stretching across 40 metres. Mussi’s long-time interest in nature and science continues with pieces like Nature Recycles Everything and Monoculture Perfection.
Nature Recycles Everything, writes Dr Paul Patterson, ‘reflects an overarching motif; there is nothing we grow, make, consume, use, dispose of or attempt to destroy that ever escapes the truth of the law of conservation of energy which – ‘can be neither created nor destroyed, but can change form’ underlining how the forces that drive us are not averse to taking a scenic route.
Importantly, seeing the human mouth as gateway to our individual choices - what we choose to ingest, and what we choose to say, reveals much of our personal values.’
All Consuming is at Museum in the Park until 27 August.
