Students from the Royal School of Needlework worked with Atelier Chalayan for Paris Fashion Week spring 2014
Three students from the Royal School of Needlework helped renowned fashion designer Hussein Chalayan create his A/W 2014 collection that showed at Paris fashion week in March.
Fiona Townsend, Fiona Askew and Luna Samuels attached painted and embellished false finger nails to delicate silk organza. Approaching each false nail as if it were a specially shaped sequin they were attached using special beading thread to create a the effect of a graduated colour field.
The Royal School of Needlework established in 1872 and based at Hampton Court Palace is an international centre of excellence and runs the only hand embroidery degree programme in the UK.
