Brown Betty, Björk in crafty cane, creative dyslexics and Beyond Parnham

What happened
The Woman's Hour Craft Prize exhibition opened at the V&A and we think it looks rather splendid. As does this film on the 12 finalists.
Crafts magazine landed and oh me oh my what a Brown Betty belter.
Parnham College, founded by Craft Council Directory furniture maker John Makepeace OBE celebrated its 40 year anniversary with the publication of Beyond Parnham.
Edmond Bryrne at Flow, Aneta Regel at Jason Jacques and Diana Springall at Sunbury Embroidery Gallery all opened.
Ryan Yasin has won A James Dyson Award for his clothing that grows along with your children.
Our Directory Maker of the Week is Lizzie Farey who is currently in a solo show Concentus at Scottish Gallery. We talk to Lizzie here.
What was said
“People with dyslexia really do look at things differently” Jamie Oliver. We know this to be true as a high % of makers are dyslexic.
What was made
A hand woven cane structure by Sam Chester and worn by the first lady of craft collaborations Björk.
What to look forward to
Form + Motion, our partnership exhibition with the British Council opening at the Cheongju Craft Biennale.
