Listen again to Crafts magazine’s Book Club
The Crafts magazine Book Club celebrates the relationship between writing and making. We invited design historian, author and Crafts columnist Tanya Harrod to talk about The Real Thing (published by Hyphen Press), a collection of essays on craft, art and design taken from her extraordinary 30 year career.
Tanya's subjects range from Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture to the poetic objects-in-landscape of Ian Hamilton Finlay, from Philip K Dick’s science fiction to the theories of Richard Sennett and from Picasso’s ceramics to the still lives of Gwyn Hanssen Pigott. The book was selected by the Evening Standard as one of its best art and design titles of 2015.
