Crafts Council’s Rosy Greenlees awarded OBE in New Year’s Honours

We are delighted that our Executive Director Rosy Greenlees was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List 2017.

There are 1,197 honours with women making up more than half of those on the list, including an OBE to Rosy for her services to the craft sector.

With a background in the visual arts Rosy has worked in a number of senior cultural management roles before joining the Crafts Council in 2006. These include Eastern Arts Board, Greater London Authority, London Centre for Arts and Cultural Enterprise. She is currently President of the World Crafts Council, a member of the UK Trade and Investment’s Creative Industries Sector Advisory Group and is a Fellow of the RSA.

In July 2016, Rosy celebrated her ten year anniversary at the Crafts Council. Her leadership has supported the Crafts Council to grow its programmes, supporting over 3,410 makers, curators and craft professionals over the last year alone.

"I am very honoured to receive this award. Working in the crafts has been a great pleasure and I am proud of the achievements of the Crafts Council. I look forward to continuing to promote the value of craft and making in the 21st century." Rosy Greenlees.
