Perrier-Jouet Arts Salon Prize winner Marcin Rusak’s solo show opens
Former Crafts Talent Spot, Marcin Rusak, won this year’s Perrier-Jouet Arts Salon Prize and as part of his prize he receives a solo show at London’s Contemporary Applied Arts, as well as a £10,000 grant. The recent Royal College of Art graduate, who is as much a social commentator as he is a product designer, will present work using flowers. ‘It is an incredible opportunity to further develop my ideas and techniques with the kind support of the grant and present new work to the greater public,’ he commented.
Rusak was chosen by a panel of arts world luminaries including stage designer Es Devlin and the Crafts Council’s executive director Rosy Greenlees. Previous winners have included ceramist Hitomi Hosono and sculptor Laura Youngson Coll.
Inflorescence and Other Artefacts is on show until 1 August
