Yves Saint Laurent retrospective

The first UK retrospective of the couturier is at the Bowes Museum

Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal comprises 50 garments and hundreds of accessories. Notable exhibits include the famous Mondrian dress, pieces from the Russian Collection and the Tuxedo. The Bowes Museum has one of the largest collections of textiles in Britain and the exhibition will make connections with some historic pieces. ‘We are honoured to host the first exhibition in the UK of Yves Saint Laurent, one of the most influential fashion designers of all time,’ said the show’s curator Joanna Hashagen. ‘This certainly is a great moment in the history of The Bowes Museum, as well as for fashion display in the UK.’

Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal is at the Bowes Museum until 25 October
