Dominic Wilcox graduated from the RCA Design Products MA course lead by Ron Arad in 2002. Since graduating he has developed a broad range of work including the world's first pair of shoes with inbuilt GPS to guide the wearer home, a Binaudios device to listen to the sounds of a whole city, and a stained glass driverless car of the future.
Wilcox works between the worlds of art, design, craft and technology, with the aim of transforming the banal and everyday into something surprising, innovative and thought provoking. Recently his book Variations on Normal, named after his popular blog, has been published. The book contains Wilcox's absurd yet thought provoking invention drawings described by designer Thomas Heatherwick as 'serious challenges to the real world to keep looking at itself with innocent eyes, wondering what else is possible.’
