Lizete Druka

Lizete Druka is an inquisitive materials designer pursuing new perspectives on materials and their applications

Firmly believing that our interactions with materials lie at the core of some of our most vivid and poignant experiences, Lizete’s research investigates new material potential through playful appropriation.

Having had a unique development, Lizete was born in Riga, raised respectively in Latvia, the United States and more recently Scotland, where she achieved a First Class Honours degree specialising in Textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee.

This led to an invitation to pursue her research further at the Royal College of Art where she explored a breadth of topics; ranging from writing and championing a new design manifesto, 3D modelling handwriting, investigating processes by casting concrete pencils and being awarded a distinction merit for a thesis on the perception and correlation of synthetic textiles and concrete. While studying at the Royal College, she has also has designed concepts for companies ranging from Audi, Fortnum and Mason, Sabic, and Jaguar amongst others.

Currently, Lizete is a colour and materials designer in the Jaguar Advanced Design studio in Coventry where she combines her experience within conceptual research and materials to create and curate tangible material themes to offer innovative solutions for automotive futures.
