About the gallery

The Antonella Villanova space was conceived in 2007 within the well-established contemporary art venue; the Alessandro Bagnai Gallery, to provide a complementary element of research. The gallery presents works of art and ornamental objects created by famous visual artists and designers, as well as emerging young talents specialising in jewellery. In this white cube in the heart of Florence, there are historic pieces by masters such as Franco Albini, next to recent creations by the brilliant architect Johanna Grawunder; refined porcelain by Betty Woodman juxtaposed with a sculptural bracelet form by Enzo Cucchi as well as signed pieces by Kiki Smith within the rich section devoted to jewellery. Antonella Villanova creates an energetic dialogue between art and decorative arts by making the two inseparable, while respecting their individual characteristics.
