For decades, Jeremy Reed has been one of Britain’s most dynamic, adventurous and controversial British poets and prose stylists, publishing over 40 prize-winning books of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Asked to select objects from the Crafts Council Collection and to create poems in response, Reed chose five works that to him were reminiscent of “sci-fi, DNA and cellular shapes; fashion, pop and the continually updated design of the modern world”.
The selected glass, ceramics and jewellery works by Naoko Sato, Edmund de Waal, Mo Jupp, David Watkins and Grainne Morton are each accompanied by a commissioned poem by Reed. The Collection exhibition is available for loan from October 2011. Suited to gallery spaces of approximately 20m², the exhibition can compliment educational activities, or enhance a borrower’s own collection.
