The Crafts Council lends on a long term loan basis to galleries, museums and university collections. Long term loans enhance interpretation and displays of existing or new permanent craft collections or publically accessible research collections. Borrowers can draw on the entire Collection of 1,400 objects dating for the early 1970s to the current date. The Collection encompasses all the main media including ceramics, glass, textiles, furniture, metalwork, jewellery, calligraphy, lettering and bookbinding. The Collection reflects excellence in British craft making from both established figures and emerging makers.
The initial period of loan is three years with the potential for renewal.
Long term loans run along side our Out of the Box loan scheme as well as short term loans.
