The Crafts Council lends on a short term loan basis to exhibitions organized by galleries, museums and university collections. We also lend to healthcare venues and are interested in lending to corporate venues to enhance audience engagement with contemporary craft.

Borrowers can draw on the entire Collection of 1,400 objects dating for the early 1970s to the current date. The Collection encompasses all the main media including ceramics, glass, textiles, furniture, metalwork, jewellery, calligraphy, lettering and bookbinding. The Collection reflects excellence in British craft making from both established figures and emerging makers.

The initial period of loan is less than three years.

Short term loans run along side our long term loans and Out of the Box loan scheme.
