    Aberystwyth Ceramic Collection and Archive

    Aberystwyth

    Aberystwyth Arts Centre's collection is one of the major collections of studio ceramics in Britain and is particularly noted for its studio pottery of the period 1920-1940. An active acquisitions policy has expanded the collection to include contemporary British and international ceramics from Africa, the Americas and Asia.

    Since the 1990s, the Museum has been pursuing a strategy of acquiring work by Welsh, British and international makers. Primarily the focus has been on collecting ceramics, but this has recently broadened to include metalwork and some glass, jewellery and furniture. The Museum also houses a collection of contemporary silver from the P & O Makower Trust and ceramics from the Craft Council Collection.

    Glynn Vivian Art Gallery

    Swansea

    Founded in 1911, this gallery offers a broad range of visual arts from the original bequest of Richard Glynn Vivian (1835-1910) to the 20th century and today. The collection consists of a broad spectrum of visual arts, which includes work by old Masters, as well as the renowned collection of Swansea porcelain and china, complemented by European and Oriental ceramics.
