My work
Lampworking is an ancient craft, going back to Roman time and beyond. Rods of glass are melted on an oxygen-propane torch and either formed around steel mandrels into beads or shaped into small sculptures, and then annealed in a kiln. Inclusions can be enamels, metals, crystals. The beads are combined with sterling silver wires and fittings or made into mixed-media pieces.
