My work

The qualities of joining, forming and change in the discarded artefacts of an urban society inspires the work. Sculptural Vessel Forms are made with subtle nuances of the raku reduction chamber which are then embellished with patinated silver leaf playing on the contrasts and ambiguities of dull greys and shiny silver surfaces.
The work features in a number of books on Raku, Smoke Firing and Surface Decoration Techniques.

Alongside her own work, Joy Bosworth teaches at University level and has written a book for A & C Black called “Ceramics with Mixed Media”. She is now researching another book on Ceramic Jewellery for A & C Black.
