My work

Ray embraces the minimalist approach. His design bywords are ‘keep it simple stupid’, ‘let the wood speak for itself’ and ‘if in doubt, leave it out’. Herbert Ympa, in his book London Minimum, decreed Ray’s work had achieved ‘Wabi’. The work must be pure, in form, material and execution, for this Japanese word meaning ‘voluntary poverty’ to be applied.
