It was founded in August 2001 by an artist for artists. The studios are based in Hackney Wick, next to the River Lee. The building, originally a warehouse was built in 1910 and is very typical of the style of the day.The spaces are situated on the top 3 floors of the building and have fantastic light as a result of being off the ground Mother Studios also offers a support network for the artists at the studios.
