The British Council is Britain's principal agency for cultural relations overseas. It provides access to British ideas, creative talents and expertise, and promotes the achievements of British artists abroad. It organises many exhibitions and helps artists through its Grants to Artists scheme to meet the costs of exhibiting abroad.
