Dan Klein Associates is hosting an exhibition of new glass by Sally Fawkes and Richard Jackson at its Pimlico headquarters until 12 June

The exhibition follows the pair’s recent exhibition, 10 Years On, at Museo de Arte en Vidrio de Alcorcon in Madrid and is the first time much of the work has been seen in the UK. But what makes it really interesting is that the exhibition includes collaborative work by the pair. Although they share studios – and so feed into each other’s work informally – the two have never actually worked together. ‘It’s a new experimental development for us’ says Sally Fawkes. The pieces reflect their shared interest in abstract cast glass sculptural forms. ‘You can see a bit of both of them in the collaborative works but the pieces work very well’ says Alan Poole of Dan Klein Associates.

It’s been a busy few weeks for Klein, as last week also saw the inaugural sale of Modern and Contemporary glass which it organised in association with Bonhams. Although only just over half the 164 lots sold, Bonhams’ spokesman Julian Roup said: ‘We were most encouraged by this first sale’. The top selling piece was American glass artist William Morris’s blown glass vase, Stonehenge, which went for £13,800, well over its top estimate of £10,000, with other star performers being Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtová’s Queen and Toots Zynsky’s More Tropical Chaos which both made £10,800.
