Contemporary Craft Festival

Chair, John Luff

The Contemporary Craft Festival returns to Bovey Tracey this summer for another craft extravaganza (15-17 June)

With over 200 designer-makers this promises to be an impressive event and well worth a visit for anyone interested in buying, making or just admiring contemporary craft. They’ll be exhibits in all media, including the usual craft fair suspects in textiles, ceramics and jewellery, as well some more unusual categories including stone, mosaic and bookbinding. New for this year is One Year On, featuring work by 20 selected new businesses, including origami textile jewellery by Yu-Ping Lin and Julia Jowett’s embroidered drawings. And, there will be something for furniture fans as some of the Bodging Milano designers will be taking part in the Great Windsor Chair Race. Competitors, including Chris Eckersley, and William Warren, have to design and make as many of these traditional chairs as they can in the space of three days – may the best man win!
