About this project

In 2014, I was asked by the curators at Forty Hall, a 17th century house in Enfield built by a wealthy haberdasher, to make some weavings for an exhibition celebrating the gardens and parkland of this house.

Over the autumn I made weekly walks there watching autumn turn to winter and taking photographs. These pieces were woven with with antique threads in reference to the original occupier of the house, and with yarns dyed with plant dyes, some of which I found in the gardens.
