I make hand thrown porcelain pots fired in an oxidized atmosphere. I use porcelain clay as it has an innate beauty and fineness. My pots are functional; they are for holding, using and displaying. I am influenced by the tradition of British studio ceramics; it is the basis of my artistic language. Through the process of throwing I strive to make perfect simple shapes, using the vessel shape as a starting point. I use slip created during the throwing process to enhance the form.
