About this project

This bedside table hosts a marriage of materials and texture. Visible on the outside is ebonised oak and bog oak. Both are blackened using the same natural reaction, but one has been facilitated in the workshop and the other has happened over 5,000 years in the peat bogs of the Fens. On the inside, oak bark tanned leather compliments an oak drawer box with discreet brass pin detailing.
