Developing a theme through a series of pieces

About this project

My free blown asymmetrical clear glass forms with their thick surface wall, facilitate further development through a wide range of cold working techniques.

The aim is to emphasise transparency, opacity, line, texture and reflection. In conjunction with the imagery of birds, these qualities can create the illusion of movement. To accentuate this, I placed the clear glass form on a similarly treated mirrored base, attached to a concealed turntable, that can be revolved by hand.

This is part of a series of pieces through which I am trying to develop both visually and technically.
