The Mariage of Steel and Silver

About this project

I started experimenting with steel when designing the Rose Bowl, commissioned by The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire to commemorate the Centenary of the discovery of Stainless steel in 2013. When creating the templates for the steel ‘petals’ that form the base of the rose bowl I was left with a very specific shape between each one which I started to play with to create the stand for the Bespoked Bowl. The silver bowl follows the contours of the stand to create an undulating pool of reflection.
