About this project

‘Attach’: Questioning the designated conventions surrounding jewellery and how we decide to wear or display our possessions inspired this collection of handmade fastenings. Recreating items such as safety pins, hook and eyes and even suspender loops to form a collection of unconventional wearable objects.

Inspired by the shaping of suspender loops this piece questions why fastenings are usually hidden and instead creates a way for these items to be worn on show to display their presence and beauty. Brass and embossed paper

Handmade chain of brass safety pins with one silver pin that acts as the clasp of the necklace that can be worn at varying lengths and in various positions showing the importance of the wearers personal choice.
'Hook and Eye Bracelet'
Accompanying the intricate hand formed hook and eye style fastening with a fine silver chain to create a bracelet.
