I make thrown individual stoneware. The throwing marks and ribbed effects are intentionally left as part of the making process to enhance the fluidity and movement of the shapes. My use of textured clays that still contain many impurities bringing an unpredictable challenge in the making, pushing the throwing of these pieces to the limits adds a more mysterious and tactile quality to the surface of the pots. The black glaze fits in every situation, subtle, dense draws the viewer to the work.
