Making Guns: The Plastic Baroque

About this project

Beginning with the understanding that the tool dictates the outcome, a special ‘gun’ was created, which extrudes a pug of recycled plastic. This tool unpacks a hands on way of working with a material that is ubiquitous yet often maligned in material culture. The freeform way of using the material reveals its dynamic, indeed plastic, nature which is usually hidden in the packaging and products that surround us in daily life.
