Porcelain wall pieces made for Art in Action

About this project

A collection of textured porcelain wall pieces made to exhibit at Art in Action 2016. Wall pieces start as sketches out in the woods or on the beaches of N.W.Highlands of Scotland. Sketches are translated into water colour sketches before testing out in porcelain tiles. Many techniques are used to create sumptuous surfaces eg mishima - a process of carving and inlaying slip to create delicate lines of tree trunks, mono printing of decorative slips and carving into the leatherhard clay.
