About this project

Commissioned for Airdrie Community Health Centre, east of Glasgow, Scotland, the three large-scale works are sited in the reception and entrance areas. They aim to encapsulate key aspects of Airdrie’s past in bold, abstract compositions that make reference to astronomy, blotting paper, baking and confectionery, linen weaving and ironwork foundries. Screen-printed and stencilled on linen, the imagery is applied in layers, gradually building up and stripping away colour.
