The Moon and Sixpence

About this project

The title refers both to the shape of the tapestry and its internal shapes, but also to the novel by Somerset Maugham about a fictional artist based on Gauguin.  I have used the type of colours he enjoyed, also using them in large blocks. The theme is "If you look at the ground in search of a sixpence, you don’t look up, and so miss the moon."
