About this project

Commissioned for James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, this dichroic glass and steel sculpture is cinematic in scale. Suspended in the south atrium of the hospital, the installation spans four levels of the building. The structure depicts the southern hemisphere of the globe, wires create lines of longitude and clusters of lenses refer to navigation by the stars. Three ships can be found on the dichroic glass panels, representing the voyages of Captain James Cook.
