About this project

A new World Map for the ‘Post-Truth’ era.
Horizontal scale 1:26 million, vertical scale 1:500 000
Presenting the Earth as a series of 24 ‘peeled’ globe gores, this series of work offers a map that represents true continent size comparison, unlike the Eurocentric, northern hemisphere flattering, Mercator projection.
Developed from a hand drawn contour map, the models for each section were built up in 1mm thick layers of porcelain, and then sculpted via detailed study of Google Earth
