Paper-cut lampshades

About this project

My range of handmade paper-cut lampshades, with a repeated geometric pattern hand-cut into the paper.

I developed this method of paper-cutting - scoring and ripping away sections of a pattern to let the light shine through in a shadowed effect.

I source different types and colours of paper for these shades and the magic is the moment of switching on the light to see the different qualities when lit up.
