Comfortable Place

About this project

This series of work is my response to the hugely diverse and exciting, yet organised and controlled book collections in libraries with reference to the first libraries which were archives of clay tablets in cuneiform scripts from the 7th Century B.C. In the work, each rectangle of clay becomes a record of touching, drying, colouring and firing. Together they create forms that are organic and diverse within the constraints of the edges and frames.
