About

My work has a primitive quality: slab-built from coarse, black clay, forms are torn, textured, rough-edged and purposely imperfect.

The spontaneity of my working method helps me to capture a dynamism of form which is absent when my head is overly involved.

I am intrigued by what lies in the chasm between who we present to the world and who we actually are with all our conflicting feelings. I am fascinated by textural surfaces that reveal the passage of time and the unpredictability of life.
