Small Works

About this project

Sensuous, tactile and intriguing vessel forms inspired by hidden forms in nature. Each piece is individually handmade using techniques of slabbing, press-moulding and pinching. The meditative creation of the repeated “gills” which encompass the forms, pushes the clay to its limits; the making process imitates the rhythm and pattern of growth, demonstrating control of the material, whilst also leaving the trace of movement, like imprints in the sand.
