The Wolf and the Lamb

About this project

Hand crocheted empty wolf skin.
A tale of injustice, The Wolf and the Lamb was painted in the 18th century by Jean-Baptiste Oudry, an artist best known for his naturalistic renditions of animals.
In the tradition of nature morte, here the wolf appears as a three dimensional empty husk, the lamb represented by the use of golden wool.
Symbolic of the human condition, this vanitas references injustice, mortality, wealth and greed.
