About this project

I work using plants and weeds which grow in the front gardens and wastelands, in hedges and along paths. I collect the plants, they are pressed and then I use them to create the designs. My interest in colour and pattern informs the designs. The process captures the surface relief - even the veins of the leaf show. I call it ‘fossilized plastic’. I link the natural world with the man-made by marrying acrylic with the gathered plants, to produce beautiful pieces.
