Exploring our native insect and plant life through Sgraffito. Developing new soft coloured slips to show the delicate changes in colours. layering extra slips on top of the completed design to add life and emphasis to the main themes.

This piece has been thrown on the wheel and decorated at leather hard with coloured clay slips and the technique of Sgraffito. I chose to place the butterflies with a very old variety of rose
Fuchsia Sgraffito vessel

This piece has been thrown and decorated at leather hard using coloured slips and the technique of Sgraffito. The Fuchsia plant envelopes the whole vessel also covering the base.

Southern hawker Dragonfly & Water-lily
