About this project

This project focussed on achieving unique results using standardised methods of production.

Traditionally the slip casting process uses plaster moulds to produce large quantities of identical products. I developed a method that combined the techniques of press moulding and slip casting. The external surfaces of each object are distinctly decorated with random arrangements of coloured clay, whilst the internal surfaces bare the mark of the maker. Both surfaces are of equal importance.
