Maker Teacher Scheme (MTS)

A technician at Harris Academy. London, supports a GCSE lesson in ceramics © ReachOutRCA/ Crafts Council, 2008.

An exciting programme of craft-based CPD opportunities and workshops for UK schools, offered in partnership with NSEAD.

What is the MTS?

Based on the highly successful Artist-Teacher Scheme developed by the National Society of Art and Design Education (NSEAD), the MTS is a parallel initiative with its own identity, developed with the Crafts Council.

The MTS is an umbrella scheme incorporating the very best professional development opportunities in craft education delivered by Crafts Council and partner organisations. These so far include:

• NSEAD
• The Making
• Craftspace
• Engage

Our burgeoning collective offer includes varied and blended learning opportunities for teachers and other education professionals, such as museum and gallery staff.

Stay informed:

The best way to stay abreast of news and events for teachers, makers/ workshop leaders, museum education staff etc, is to join our Craft Action Network. In the coming months, we will be launching a new site for network members supporting professional development, practice-sharing, research and advocacy both online and face-to-face.

COMING SOON! Courses, Workshops and MAs for 2011.
