Beginners Throwing Taster Sessions
A one-hour intensive (but fun!) throwing session for up to 4 students.
Students will be shown how to centre the clay, throw a simple bowl and/or a mug which can be taken home at the end of the session. If students wish to have the pots glazed and fired then this can be done for a nominal fee of £5 to cover the kiln running costs.
There are three sessions to choose from with a maximum of 12 students over the course of the day – they are likely to fill up quickly.
It is advisable to wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, however, some rather fetching plastic aprons will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own apron along if you prefer though.
A bit of background:
Deiniol splits his time between making wood-fired stoneware and porcelain, and earthenware tiles. Having recently moved from a tiny workshop in Derbyshire to a large studio in Sowerby Bridge, Deiniol can finally accommodate students for throwing tuition.
