We are looking for expressions of interest to participate in the 2018 Huguenot Festival which is scheduled to take place at Hanbury Hall, Spitalfields, on Saturday 20th October between 11am and 4pm.
Our aim is to highlight the artistic and craft skills of these quite extraordinary people. We are looking for a contemporary expression of a skills that originates from Huguenot heritage. This event is part of a much larger festival organised by the City of London titled ‘Women: Work and Power’.
We welcome interest from individual makers, groups and craft-work organisations in disciplines in which the Huguenots excelled - weaving, book-binding, silver and gold smithing, furniture, metal, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, miniatures, paper, sculpture etc.
There is no charge for participating and makers will have an opportunity to display and sell made items, demonstrate a particular skill, or give a talk. Publicity will appear on newsletters and websites, as well as other opportunities that will arise.
Flat surfaces will be provided and there is some access to power sources, but please state if you require other facilities.
If you have any queries, please contact Charlie de Wet on 020 7247 0367.
