Flow gallery

Flow Gallery carefully curates its contemporary craft makers, so that you can easily find what you’re looking for. Flow represents international makers working in ceramics, glass, paper, wood, textiles, metal and jewellery.

We work both with collectors and corporate clients who are establishing collections of applied arts. We are very happy to assist customers with creative gift ideas, wedding lists as well as individual commissions such as engagement and wedding rings, in addition to hand-made objects for the home. After a recent refurbishment,

Flow Gallery presents a more intimate space and resembles more a collector’s home rather than a “white cube” with objects displayed on a white plinth. Working in close contact with craftsmen enables us to build strong relationships with the makers. We know the provenance of each object. We love the hand-made, the unusual and the personal. We show pieces that you will love and cherish, that build upon the traditional notion of passing loved items through the family.

Established by Yvonna Demczynska in 1999, Flow gallery is situated in the heart of London’s Notting Hill.

“I am fascinated by dots, lines and contours, by their rhythmical movements but also by the empty space they confine. Instead of drawing on paper, I draw in space by using textile as a material. I work with thread, fabric and horsehair, fishscales and parchment – materials which are soft, light, flexible and open to endless development. For me transparency is a prerequisite. By leaving some space between the structure and the wall the object is freed from its background and interacts with the white wall. It becomes what I call a ‘Spatial Drawing’.”
