With Origin 2009 drawing to a reluctant close, the success of the annual crafts fair was matched only by the enthusiasm built for basketry.

The intervention pieces inspired and awed, demonstrating that basketry is not all laundry and old rattan. Getting fair goers involved, sleeves rolled up, proved that basketry can be fun and socially responsible.

Some of the Week 2 makers also impressed the selection panel enough to walk away with rather impressive accolades.
